====== Internet Access Problems ====== On the front panel display the text **Hi**, **Lo** or **AC** indicates that there is a working WAN (Internet) connection. If this is not the case, you have probably one of the following display appearances: - blank, apart from a single dot in the lower right corner. This indicates that there is no low-level link (i.e. no Ethernet link in case of Ethernet type of WAN, or no ADSL link) on the WAN interface. * If using Ethernet as the WAN port:\\ Check the cables. When an Ethernet link is established, the WAN led (on 4-port models the ET4 led) should be lit, "**100**" is displayed for a short while on the display, and there is a message "Link up" entered in the system log. * If using ADSL as the WAN port: \\ Check the ADSL cables and connectors, and proceed by the ADSL Connection Troubleshooting scheme. - a rolling figure-of-eight, accompanied by the text **IP**. This shows that the low-level link has been properly established but the modem has not got its IP address on the WAN interface. * Check the settings of the VPI/VCI values on the web GUI:Network page. * If using the **Access type** //PPPoE// or //PPPoA// on the web GUI:Network page, check the settings of the **User** and **Password**. * Check if there is any kind of error message in the system log. If you have problems accessing the Internet from a PC on the LAN, follow this procedure:\\ (This assumes that you want to use the Internet Gate as a router and use it to assign IP addresses to all the devices on your local network.) - Check that there is a working connection between the PC and the Internet Gate, follow the instructions here. - Check the Internet (WAN) connection as described above. You must have the **Hi**, **Lo** or **AC** on the display.
