Phones attached to the PH ports of Internet Gate can be used as SIP phones. Many common tasks can be performed using dial codes dialed on the telephones' keypads.
The behavior of phones connected to the PH ports are configurable. The dial codes described here are of the default extended USA configuration.

To place a call:
To enable or disable call waiting:
A single beep is heard when a second call comes in, 10 seconds later a second beep is played.
After 12 seconds the caller gets a busy tone if call is not picked up.
To hang up current call and pick up the waiting call:
Put current call on hold and pick up the waiting call:
Other ways to handle call waiting:
You can alternate between active and held call.
If second call is incoming:
When a call has been put on hold a single beep is heard every 10 seconds.
If a held call is disconnected two short beeps are heard.
To place an ongoing call on hold:
To return to a call that has been put on hold:
If the remote end puts you on hold, tree short beeps will be heard every 10 seconds.
All three parties involved in the call transfer must have support for the call transfer feature.
To transfer a call without notifying the receiver:
Two of the three parties involved in the blind call transfer must have support for the blind call transfer feature. The phone that the call is transferred to is the only one that does not need the feature support.
To set up a mini conference call between three parties:
At any time with two calls regardless of direction pressing #3 will connect 3-way.
Hangup leads to all calls are disconnected.
If a remote end hangs up two short beeps indicate someone left the conference.
