+The **Display Filter** on the System Log page is for //post-grab//-filtering - it controls display of already recorded data.
+To configure what packets to log in the system log use the [[Log Configuration page]].
+Thus for example if you have not enabled "Debug messages in system log" then no debug level entries will be logged. Thus enabling Debug on the Display Filter will not show any such events as they never become logged.
